Emile and Walter Baumann

Emile & Walter Baumann "traineau" sledge chairs. These French chairs have a distinct Scandinavian inspiration but still retain a unique design. Reupholstered and beechwood frame. Baumann factory is a furniture company located in a former clog factory in Colombier-Fontaine in the Doubs (France). It is one of the twentieth century’s most acclaimed companies of the market industry. It was in 1903 that the son of the swiss founder Emile Baumann, named Walter, becomes head of the company. The factory had its first success with chairs and children’s furniture. Emile Baumann was a Swiss who lived in France and created his own furniture manufacture at the beginning of the 20st century. The manufacture became very well known in the sixties and the Baumann chairs were much seen in French restaurants and bistrots. Baumann was one of the biggest manufacturers of "bent wood" furniture along with Thonet. 1960's Italian Beech Tripod Table Unique side table from Italy in the style of Gio Ponti, made out of beech. The top of the table has an incredibly unique look. In very good condition. D : 45cm W : 90cm H : 55cm

Mid-Century Modern Drop-Leaf Desk by Arne Vodder for Sigh and Son Denmark, 1960s This has a drop leaf which when lifted extends the surface area of the desk top. The pedestal with drawers is cleverly mounted on a runner, so it can be slid across to have the knee hole on whichever side you prefer.

Magazine Rack by Cor Alons for Gouda den Boer, 1950 This bend plywood Magazine table, is designed by Cor Alons for Gouda den Boer. The bend plywood side with holes was a storage for the newspaper. The bottom shelve has 3 round holes. Cor Alons is a Dutch architect and designer. His approach is considered as functionalist. H : 50cm W : 55cm D : 55cm

Very nice sideboard model 37 designed by Arne Vodder for Sibast Mobler. Sideboard has tambour sliding doors, shelves and 2 drawers behind. There is a shelf missing on the left side. Made  from  teak. Excellent vintage condition with  patina  and  minor signs  of  use. Denmark 1950
